On behalf of Operation Homefront and in support of their Holiday Toy Drive for Military Families, we are collecting “new, unwrapped toys” at our location. Thank you, in advance, for your help in supporting this wonderful cause!
How Operation Homefront Helps
Each year, Operation Homefront advances its mission to provide emergency financial and other assistance to the families of US service members and wounded service members. In 2011, Operation Homefront met 167, 795 needs for military families, including active duty, Guard and Reserve members from all branches of service. With the country’s economy still in recovery, there is a nationwide gap in programs designed to help the lowest paid members of the military (E1-E5). No other organization provides the level and scope of services Operation Homefront provides to its client base- junior enlisted families, and wounded hereos transitioning back to civilian life.
Holidays Are Difficult with Deployment and Tight Finances
While Operation Homefront provides critical financial, emergency and morale assistance throughout the year, the holiday season presents a unique need within the military population. Of the 1.4 million military children in the US, many of them spend the holiday season with a parent serving away from home. At a time when families should be together, many are apart and the spouses at home often have financial difficulties.
Show Your Appreciation for Our Service Members!
Operation Homefront receives countless emails from military families during the Holiday Season asking for help. For this reason, Operation Homefront seeks your support for their 2012 Holiday House Program. November 1st through December 7th, we are collecting toys and gift cards to distribute to military families. This small gesture of providing gifts for military children goes a long way to make a very difficult time a little bit easier.
